The Blog Commenter Award of the Year goes to.......... MIKE!!!!
Congrats, you have won this prestigious award granted only to those who have immense free time and brains bigger than the size of a pea. Good job, old chap.
And because of your outstanding achievement you have been granted life-time access to post more comments on this blog.
Thanx Mike, and Karis too....
and all I to do was just.... ask. Darn, if I knew it would bring such results, I would've asked earlier! :p
So, went out with Kerry today, my crazy girl. She brought in tow this girl who just came back from Taiwan, and a 16 year old boy from Vancouver. Such nice company. I had so much fun hanging out with them. NOT!
I am a friendly person by nature, though sometimes nature does reverse itself and I morph into a shy, reticent being, but today it was the chirpy side of my split personality that was dominant.
A question. How do you communicate with a stone? Answer: You can't! Coz its unresponsive!
hah. SO this girl from Taiwan and this boy from Vancouver, let's just call them TV. They were like stones. And I felt so confused at first coz I didnt know which language I should use so everyone would feel comfortable.
I speak Hokkien to Kerry.
Kerry speaks Mandarin to T.
T speaks Cantonese to V.
I speak English to V.
TV dont understand Hokkein.
T's English is so heavily accented I'd rather she not speak.
Are you feeling dizzy yet? Turns out I shouldnt have felt like I was in a dilemna coz TV were more interested in watchin MTVs than actually carrying a conversation. Only thing I'm thankful for is THEY WENT HOME EARLY.
Just goes to show, if you wish for somethign hard enough, and whisper it softly under your breath 1000 times, voila, it comes true.... ha. ha. ha. oooh, I hope they dont call Kerry and meet up tomorrow, I would like to spend time with my crazy gal before I have to head back to isolation in KL, now, if only Erik and Pablo would call... ehheheh.
But what do you do when you're in a situation like that? TV weren't my friends, and Kerry felt obligated to hang out with them coz T rarely comes back to Penang, but I'm not obligated to them in anyway, of course I could choose to be nice and paste on a fake smile, and make small talk "So what's the weather like in Vancouver?"
But hey. Pretending to like somethign I don't aint my style, but how do you let these people know nicely without hurting their feelings that they're so boring I would rather watch paint dry, coz at least you can notice how the paint cogulates, and how some beads will slide down, and how shiny or matte it looks depending on the state of dryness...etc. YOU get my point.
SO yeah, how do you do that?
How do you be direct but diplomatic? Faliq, I need some pointers here......
But I'm guessin, most people would choose the 'whats the weather like....' path, no? Well, I guess it's sorta a lose-lose situation... hey, maybe you should try wishing for it under your breath 1000 times.... it works!

2 Stardust sprinkled:
Hmm... bihzhu dear, this is a no brainer to me. U know me... I have no problems telling people off - lets not start thinking whether i can do it diplomatically or not. So, for me... i just wanna be honest. Truth hurts, but hey im trying to help here. If we dont tell them what could possibly help them to be better, then they wont improve... but thats only what I think. :)
haha karis, i knew u would say that! i guess ure one of the lucky ones, actually the only person i can think of who would have no qualms speakin her mind!
good for u, damn, i wish this had a chat thing, coz i dont even know if u'll read this. ahaha
